Marc Bruni (Director, I Hate Hamlet) recently made his Broadway directorial debut with Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, currently playing at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre and also this Spring directed The Sound of Music for the Chicago Lyric Opera. Bruni’s directing credits include well received revivals of Pipe Dream and Fanny for the NY City Center Encores! series, The Explorers Club (Manhattan Theater Club), Old Jews Telling Jokes (Westside Theatre and Royal George in Chicago), Ordinary Days (Roundabout Underground), Nerds (NC Theatre), Irving Berlin’s White Christmas (Paper Mill Playhouse), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Paper Mill Playhouse and Philadelphia Theatre Company), and and 6 shows for the St. Louis MUNY including The Music Man and The Sound of Music (Kevin Kline Nominations). He has been associate director on numerous Broadway productions and tours including Nice Work If You Can Get It, Anything Goes, The Pajama Game, La Cage Aux Folles, Legally Blonde and many others, most recently The Book of Mormon.
