Beloved Local Jazz Musician Takes On Television

Performing Jazzy Prime Time Themes in a New Concert

At Bucks County Playhouse

New Hope, Pa. – Bucks County’s jazz treasure Eric Mintel and the Eric Mintel Quartet will perform a brand new concert of TV show themes as jazz pieces on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 8pm.  The performance will be emceed by Jeff Duperont, Philadelphia radio personality and jazz host on WRTI radio. Also joining Mintel onstage will be Nelson Hill (alto sax), Dave Mohn (drums), and Jack Hegyi (bass).

TV show themes performed in this concert include “Mission Impossible,” “I Dream of Jeannie,” “Spiderman,” “the Munsters” and many more.  The quartet will also perform original compositions by Eric Mintel from their latest CD “Live,” including the popular Mintel original “King’s Journey,” which is firmly carving its way into the popular music scene.

From the White House to the Kennedy Center, United Nations and beyond pianist and composer Eric Mintel and the Eric Mintel Quartet have performed for audiences throughout the country and around the world.

Eric Mintel (Piano): Mintel’s career highlights include two performances by invitation at the White House, several concerts at the Kennedy Center and a special concert at the United Nations. He was a featured guest on Marian MePartland’s award winning program “Piano Jazz” on NPR and his music is regularly played on XM and Sirius radio.

Jack Hegyi (Bass): Hegyi’s career as a bassist on both electric and upright has taken him all over the world and included a 30 year career in the Atlantic City music scene. Jack has played alongside Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gourmet, Don Rickles and many other greats of the entertainment world.

Nelson Hill (Sax/Flute): Alto sax, flute and soprano saxman Nelson Hill’s career has led him to play alongside the likes of Maynard Ferguson, Buddy Rich, Frankie Valli and the great Phil Woods, among others. www.nelsonhill.com.
