Tribute Band Celebrates the Legendary Music of the Carpenters

At Bucks County Playhouse

For One Night Only

New Hope, Pa. – “We’ve Only Just Begun: Carpenters Remembered” will take the Bucks County Playhouse stage by storm for one night only on April 2, 2016 at 8pm. This widely popular tour produced by Trajectory Productions celebrates the music of the era-defining career of the infamous musical group from the 1970s.

From Northern California to New York City to sold out appearances in Las Vegas, We’ve Only Just Begun: Carpenters Remembered has been met with enthusiasm from Carpenters’ fans and reviewers alike.

Michelle Berting Brett takes center stage and is accompanied by her 4-piece based band, based out of Nashville. You’ll experience an intimate behind-the-scenes portrait of the pop music phenomenon that defined an era, and sing along to hits that include “Close to You”, “Yesterday Once More”, “Rainy Days & Mondays”, and many more!

The Carpenters, one of the most successful recording acts of all times, took the music world by storm in the early 1970s and still hold the record for the most consecutive Top 10 singles. The dynamic combination of Karen’s voice and Richard’s compositions and arrangements created Grammy winning magic and won them a worldwide legion of loyal fans.

The cast features:

Michelle Berting Brett (Lead Vocals): Brett has performed all around the world and on the high seas. A career highlight was singing for the Armed Forces in Bosnia and opening for comic legend Bob Newhart with a 10-piece big band at Casino Rama in Toronto. She was invited to participate in the International Cabaret Conference at Yale and was featured with Matt “Guitar” Murphy opening for Little Richard at BB King’s in NYC. Now based in Connecticut Michelle is performs the music of the Carpenters in the shows “We’ve Only Just Begun: Carpenters Remembered and “Merry Christmas Darling: Carpenters’ Christmas.”

David Lukens III (Piano, Keys): Lukens has performed with Grammy winners, songwriter Lamont Dozier, and producer Paul Brown and his original works have been included in several recent compilations earning him a nomination for an Independent Music Award. Based in Nashville, he works as a keyboardist/pianist, singer/songwriter, and producer, performing in a wide variety of bands and musical styles. Most recently Lukens shared the stage opening for the Zac Brown Band at Fenway Park in Boston.

John Billings (Bass): Billings has toured and recorded with a wide variety of artists including The Monkees, Donna Summer, Micky Dolenz, Wynonna Judd, Rick Springfield, and the Wooten Brothers, and has also performed with Paul Anka, and Patti LaBelle.  He works in film and television as a sound engineer and editor and runs a recording business called Funky Tymz Productions in Nashville.

George Perilli (Drums): Perilli has toured the world and recorded with a wide variety of artists that include Maureen McGovern, the Hudson Brothers, Lola Falana, Donna Summer, Reba McEntire, Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers, Martina McBride, Pam Tillis, and Bobby Caldwell. His long-time musical relationship with Michael McDonald included co-writing “Blink of an Eye” from the album of the same name and is included on McDonald’s Greatest Hits album. He has recorded jingles, television, film, and movie soundtracks, has toured in the pit of several Broadway National Tours, and appeared at Royal Albert Hall on three occasions.

Matt Berry (Guitar): Berry began his career working as a freelance musician in Minneapolis in a wide variety of musical styles. He made the move to Nashville in 2008 and has worked with John Michael Montgomery, Collin Raye, Mandy Barnett, and Tiffany.

Mark Brett (Producer): Brett’s first job in the music business was as “Road Man” for Blues harmonica player, James Cotton. As a concert photographer Mark has photographed everyone from the Rolling Stones to Frank Sinatra to Tina Turner. He is a founding employee of the Entertainment Department at Mohegan Sun and has worked with a long list of artists that include Brenda Lee, Tony Bennett, Davy Jones, Blake Shelton, Loretta Lynn, and many more. Mark has toured as Stage Manager for Ronnie Spector (lead singer of “The Ronettes”) and worked regionally with artists like Physical Grafitti, Jeff Pitchell, and the rock band Avalanche.
