Join us Friday, June 21 and Saturday, June 22 for the 5th Oscar Hammerstein Festival, which celebrates the importance of lyrics in the creation of new musicals. As an Oscar Hammerstein Festival Passholder you get access to all events throughout the weekend. See below for what is included in your weekend itinerary as a Passholder.

Being Theo • A Staged Reading Of A New Musical

This staged reading of a brand new charming musical comedy follows the travails of Theo, a socially awkward young man who is facing a difficult moment in his life. How will he get his girl, his job and his self-esteem back without losing what he values most . . . being the best Theo he can be? Michael Patrick Walker brings a fresh sensibility and great music to this classic “coming of age” musical.

The Playhouse is thrilled to partner with Roundabout Theatre Company and its Space Jam program to offer an artistic retreat to two songwriting teams. These writers have enjoyed a week-long residency in Bucks County where they worked on their new musicals. The week is now culminating in a presentation of their work as part of the Oscar Hammerstein Festival.

A Beautiful Dawning: Oklahoma! at 75 • Benefit Concert
Bucks County Playhouse • 70 S. Main St., New Hope, PA

A special benefit concert celebration of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s ground-breaking musical featuring Kerstin Anderson, Phillip Attmore, Eleasha Gamble and Justin Guarini with Rodgers and Hammerstein Organization’s Chief Creative Officer Ted Chapin serving as writer, narrator and host. Direction and Choreography is by Parker Esse with Musical Direction by Andy Einhorn.
