Scene-Stealers: Scrooge’s Big Playhouse Performance Gift Package (For Ages 7 and up)

This year, give the gift of an experience that will last a lifetime! (For Ages 7 and up)
Bucks County Playhouse is offering the chance for local theater-lovers and aspiring thespians to join the cast of Ebenezer Scrooge’s Big Playhouse Christmas Show as Scene-Stealers on the historic Playhouse stage. Included in this package is a morning workshop and rehearsal. Scene-Stealers are taught simple choreography and can even be featured with a special talent like playing a musical instrument. Also included in the package is an optional valet parking add-on, a box lunch, a backstage tour of the Playhouse, an on-stage rehearsal and pre-show prep in the theater dressing room. Once the performance begins, Scene-Stealers will watch the production from their seats (up until it’s time to join the cast onstage for the big musical finale). (For Ages 7 and up)

*THE EXPERIENCE . . .

Workshop and Rehearsal
December (CHOOSE ONE OF THE ABOVE DATES), 201810:00am – 11:45am**
Lambertville Hall, 57 Bridge St., Lambertville, NJ

The day begins at 10:00am with a 1 hour and 45 minute workshop to introduce participants to the world of the play as designed by BCP professional theater artists. Participants will explore the play’s major themes of introspection and redemption through a progression of theater games, improvisation and interactive exercises and prepare to make their BCP main-stage debut in one performance of Ebenezer Scrooge’s Big Playhouse Christmas Show as members of the play’s roaming carolers, “The Sons of Pitches.”

During the workshop, participants will rehearse for their Bucks County Playhouse debut, learning the staging and Christmas carols for their parts as “The Sons of Pitches.” (Scene-Stealers are taught simple choreography and can even feature a special talent like playing a musical instrument.)

After a complimentary lunch, participants, now guest members of Bucks County Playhouse’s professional production, will tour the Playhouse backstage prior to “call-time,” be fitted with costumes for the show and moved into their dressing rooms to prepare for a pre-show (put in) rehearsal to go over their scenes.

At “call-time” guest members of the cast will meet on the Playhouse stage and rehearse both scenes featuring “The Sons of Pitches.” This time will be used for participants to rehearse the staging learned earlier in the day as well as all exits, entrances and the company curtain call.

 

Matinee Performance
Same Day • 2:00pm-3:30pm**
Bucks County Playhouse, 70 S. Main St., New Hope, PA

15 minutes before the show, participants will be seated in the audience to watch the performance until it is time for them to make their entrance.

 

Bucks County Playhouse Onstage Debut
Same Day • 3:30pm-3:45pm**
Bucks County Playhouse, 70 S. Main St., New Hope, PA

At the appointed time, guest cast members will be guided by a production assistant to their places backstage and cued for all stage entrances.

 

*Members from the Playhouse Youth Company are to be included as a
part of each performance experience.
As seasoned actors familiar to the Playhouse mainstage,
they will assist participants and workshop leaders throughout the day.
