2015 Subscriptions

We are delighted that you are interested in Bucks County Playhouse, and invite you to join us for 2015 as season subscribers.

This past summer, we were proud to present five great productions, from Chapter Two, directed by Marsha Mason to Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, starring the author Christopher Durang and Marilu Henner, to our hit revival of Ain’t Misbehavin, and the upcoming season closer,Plaid Tidings.

We have set three of five subscription offerings, three of which are musicals.  Here’s what’s lined up so far:

We are thrilled to present the iconic musical about love and relationships, Stephen Sondheim and George Furth’s Company.  This new production of the smart, savvy show is about a bachelor whose married friends push him toward the altar.  Our new artistic associates, Hunter Foster and Lorin Latarro (Ain’t Misbehavin’) will direct and choreograph.  They love Company as much as we do!

We are also bringing the classic George S. Kaufman musical comedy, Animal Crackers.  This new interpretation of the classic Marx Brothers’ hit Broadway musical and beloved Hollywood film overflows with mirthful melodies, dynamic dancing and seriously silly slapstick.  The production is adapted and directed by Henry Wishcamper, who staged the production at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago and Williamstown Theatre Festival.  Get swept away when Captain Spaulding, the intrepid African explorer and womanizing society darling leads a screw-ball search for an art thief at a swanky high society soiree.

And this spring we’ll present a new musical, National Pastime, about baseball, love and the golden age of radio by Al Tapper and Tony Sportiello.  It’s 1933 … WBZQ Radio is going under and Barry the owner is trying to save it. Karen, Barry’s co-owner, wants to sell the station.  Will a crazy scheme involving baseball change Karen’s mind and allow a very smitten Barry get to first base?  This warm, delightful show will be directed by Hunter and choreographed by Lorin.

As a subscriber, you’ll be the first to know as we confirm the rest of the remaining shows of the season.

We hope you’ll join us for a year of great theatre at Bucks County’s most famous cultural landmark…. back now better than ever.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting the Playhouse and our work, and continuing the regeneration of our community’s greatest cultural resource.
