Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat and all of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in the Tony award winning musical extravaganza Seussical the Musical Jr., from Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, tailored for young audiences. Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat narrates the story of Horton the Elephant, who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos. Horton must protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, and he must also guard an abandoned egg that’s been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant!

About the Bucks County Playhouse Youth Company

The Bucks County Playhouse Youth Company, now in its fourth year, is a unique five-week theater conservatory for students ages 13 to 18. While in residency at the Playhouse for the summer the students rehearse for a full professional production, take master classes with artists from the Bucks County Playhouse main stage productions, and give outreach performances all over the region.

This summer the Bucks County Playhouse Youth Company performed for over 2,600 people and gave six outreach performances in locations ranging from local libraries to museums and the grand opening of a bank!

The Youth Company provides talented young theater artists the chance to participate in a program that provides a professional environment as well as the chance to make memories and friendships that will last a life time!
