In this masterclass, performers learn to approach musical theatre repertoire as active storytelling, grounded in clear objectives, emotional stakes, and moment-to-moment shifts.
Through focused, one-on-one coaching, participants analyze lyrics as text, identify beats and tactics, clarify character objectives, and explore physical life and staging — building performances that are specific, truthful, and dramatically compelling. Students will have the chance to learn both during their coaching as well as by observing other students perform.
Ideal for musical theatre artists ready to deepen their craft and elevate their auditions through clarity, honesty, and storytelling.
Class requirements: Participants should come prepared with a song they’d like to work on.
Tuition: $80 per student.

Masterclass is a professional training program led by distinguished artists and established professionals working across the performing arts. Designed for rising creatives and lifelong learners alike, the series offers participants direct access to insight, training, and real-world perspective from working theatre professionals.
Open to all ages and levels of experience, each masterclass blends hands-on skill building with meaningful conversation about creative practice and career pathways. Sessions may include dance or voice instruction led by Broadway performers, as well as classes in acting, directing, solo performance, movement, singing, playwriting and screenwriting, design, producing, dramaturgy, stage management, theatre technology, and more.
Beyond technique, each class invites participants into the artist’s process. Featured guests share their unique journeys, creative approaches, and the many different ways a life in theatre can take shape. Classes typically conclude with a Q&A, offering space for questions, reflection, and connection with professionals actively working in the field.
