Bucks County Playhouse is seeking ushers for the 2026 season

These positions are hourly and paid. Highly flexible scheduling based on availability with up to 25 hours per week possible. Weekends and evenings required.

Due to the competitive nature of these positions, candidates will only be contacted if being considered for a position. Candidates who can commit to the full season will be given preference, though students may also be considered on a very limited basis. Candidates must be 17 years old at the time of their start date.

Interviews will begin in February and continue until all available positions are filled. Please, no phone calls or visits without a scheduled interview.

Responsibilities include:

• Scan tickets, hand out programs, direct crowds, and guide patrons to their assigned seats, including assisting patrons who use mobility assistive devices
• Monitor audiences while the performance is in progress and report on any notable audience behavior
• Intervene/de-escalate when patrons are not abiding by theater policies
• Monitor and re-stock facilities as needed
• Prepare playbills for distribution
• Assist tidying up theater and Lobby post-show

We are seeking candidates who are:

• Quick and eager learners
• Confident with basic technology
• Comfortable working with individual patrons as well as larger crowds
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Appreciative of theater

Accessibility:

This position will require you to move about a raked theater space before and during performances. You will need to be able to navigate in low-light. Use of ticket scanning devices and ability to hand out programs and verbalize directions is required. Ushers assist in emergency situations so you will need to be able to open doors and speak loudly and clearly.
