Star of stage and screen Penny Fuller recaps an extraordinary career spanning over five decades of captivating audiences. Her career began when stepped into the original Broadway production of BAREFOOT IN THE PARK opposite Robert Redford. Next, she starred as “Sally Bowles” opposite Joel Grey in CABARET, playing more performances than any other actress in the role. She then starred as the ambitious Eve Harrington opposite Lauren Bacall in “Applause,” based on the Bette Davis film “All About Eve,” and as “Anne Boleyn” in Richard Rodgers’ final musical Rex.
Television audiences know Fuller from her Emmy Award–winning performance in “The Elephant Man,” as well as memorable roles in “ER,” “NYPD Blue,” and “China Beach.” On film, she appeared with Redford in the Oscar-winning drama “All the President’s Men.”
Highlights of her recent Broadway appearances include her Tony-nominated performance in Neil Simon’s “The Dinner Party,” as the “Grand Duchess” in the musical “Anastasia,” and as the mother of Jake Gyllenhaal in “Sunday in the Park with George.”
