KATHERINE KAHRS

Katherine Kahrs (she/they) is a passionate storyteller, performer, writer, producer and teaching artist. A native of New Jersey, she started her career in New York City, developing theater, working in film and TV, while teaching, directing, and coaching performers in her own private studio. Her acting credits include work on NBC, Lifetime, Turner Broadcasting and numerous independent films. In the theater she has worked with Primary Stages, Ensemble Studio Theater, The Inwood Shakespeare Company, FringeNYC, Snapped Productions, Michael Howard Studios, and Larry Singer Studios and Shakespeare70. Katherine has produced several award-winning independent films. Her film, “‘79 Parts,” directed by Ari Taub, won the Audience Award for Best Film at the Soho International Film Festival. Her original screenplays have been selected and won awards at both national and international film festivals. Along with Catriona Rubenis-Stevens, she most recently wrote and co-directed the short film, “A Grave Disturbance” (awarded Best Dark Drama at the Oregon Short Film Festival) set for release in 2025.
