About the Student Theater Festival

$40 registration per school and $10 per student

About the 2021 Festival

Each festival day will feature an online class with either afternoon/evening performances. Each performance will be hosted by 2-3 guest hosts (professional theater artists) who will offer feedback to the students after their performances.

Each participating schools will have 30 mins maximum to present a virtual theatrical performance of their choosing e.g. a live, or prerecorded excerpt from a play, a series of individual monologues or songs, or an original devised piece.

The last day of the festival will offer a closing awards ceremony where we will bestow honors to each school and notable individual or ensemble performances. We will send festival award certificates to each school/student (via their teacher) once the festival has ended.

The registration deadline is, May 14th, 2021

We plan to set up an informal session on Zoom after the registration deadline to answer any questions and help you to plan for the event.

The Student Theater Festival, in collaboration with Newtown Arts Company, is an opportunity for teens from throughout the region to come to the Playhouse to perform for each other, take master classes and receive professional feedback.
